I don't think we Americans are that stupid to elect a President by gaging the boos in a ball park.

Indeed.

I read in last week's Newsweek, in a story on Cheney (who was booed loudly) that it's SOP at baseball games to boo any politician. Don't know if that's true, as I don't spend my time in ball parks, but I thought it was an interesting tradition, the beginning of which remains a mystery to me.

Bush was cheered wildly at Yankee Stadium during the 2001 World Series. And I don't think Rudy Guliani has ever heard a boo there.

Take the ballpark reaction for what it's worth, but also note that there is no love for Kerry anywhere in Massachusetts.
