Duke, RE: I did not know that. I have never seen anything where Intel flat out denied the possibility of a cash distribution without the promise of giving the matter consideration.

This would indicate a possible violation of current tax law.


In the past, when asked about maintaining high cash balances, Intel has consistently stated that they believed that the high capital expenditure needs and the cyclicality of their business necessitated keeping a lot of cash.

In other words, "No".

And the tax law that you're referring to is so far beyond Intel right now that it wouldn't be a consideration at all.
