A market that goes down on record earnings is not a market you want to be long in

It would have been nice if you had told me that 6 months ago.....it's a little late now:-)

the market never focussed on earnings Anindo. Never, it is all an expectations game.

What were earnings in 98, not much. But there was optimism and *revenue* targets that were going through the roof, especially amazon's incredible 300 million dollar quarter.

If we get a new company that blows out like that today on the REVENUE side, this would have to be a new company offering a paradigm shift... maybe a music downloader or web media type company, then we would have a frothy market again. There has to be the promise of a new type of business, not a whole new industry though.
