are there any stocks worth buying at present?

I bought back into ET a bit early this spring, at 12 or 13, but added recently (before they reported, beating the street and raising guidance) and think it's a steal here. You might also consider HPQ as PC shipments are growing nicely again, they're introducing many attractive new products, and they've given very positive guidance as to growth this year and for the next few years. HPQ's trading at a big discount to both the market and the sector. I have a few other longer-term holdings, but I've not researched many individual companies lately. I think one should do well over the next year or more in broad-based funds as the economy and earnings continue to improve. Valuations are modest over all these days and pessimism about the market abounds.

JMO, of course.
