Here are some comment from Indians I read on the Web. Real reason for India falling behind is not b'cas we don't have resources, It's b'cas of the level of corruption & bureaucracy in our system. Y is infrastructure cost 50-100% more than China. Most of the contracts r lobbied to relatives and friends of politicians. For 1km of highway u require Rs.1.5 to Rs.2 crores, when these contracts r called they r lobbied and the contract bids are jacked up. For the Golden corridor in some areas for 1km it costed up to Rs.6 crores, where only real cost would be Rs.2 crores. 60% of the resource hv been misused. Upon this, Golden corridor does not even match to European or American standards. I recently visited China & they hv planned their infrastructure for 150 year, much wider and convenient than American system. If this virus of corruption is eliminated in India, we can achieve the same economic strength as of China in no time. Our planning should improve, tasks should be given to young & talented people rather that to old people whose rational thinking is lost during the course of time. Until and unless people don't realize the effects of curroption & how it is impacting our ecomony & future of India, India cannot become a superpower.
