I saw global warming up close last week.

I went on a hike to a glacier.
The well established trail has been a frequent tourist destination since about 1890.
The first part of the trail was rich and green with years worth of accumulated soil and growth.
At the observation point, where people would touch the glacier, you could see the new boundary.
The glacier had moved up the valley a mile in distance and 300 meters in elevation.
That path was rough stone and boulders as the retreat of the ice was recent.
There was no time yet for grass, fern or trees.
The glacial approach was now a hard climb, using ropes to scale bare rock.
I'm glad my family was able to see the deep blue ice before it's gone.
