President Bush is not promoting himself on heroism in Vietnam. kerry is. Yes, the military has a process in place to recognize people for valor. the military also had what we call a 12 month tour in Vietnam. 2 1/2 million military served a 12 month tour except kia and medevacs, compassionate/hardship reassignments. I have named one person who departed country after serving 4 months of a 12 month tour. No one has yet to add one person to my list which i started with the name of john kerry. so yes, someone who received favored treatment for a reassignment could possibly have manipulated the awards and deocration system. it is real easy to answer the questions..... supply the supporting documentation for his Silver Star and the question will be answered whether it was valor or an execution of a hiding cowering VC.
