Bush got his daddy to pull strings so he could learn to fly jets as a young man, jumping ahead of hundreds, most probably better qualified and more deserving. He KNEW nobody would be shooting at him as he was flying around - the Guard wasn't used as a reserve force in Nam. Once there, he didn't even have the character to complete his service, and he got his daddy to fix that too.
Clinton was against the war, as were many. On his own, he found a way not to have to go, as many did. I think Clinton showed more character at the time.
