"we can help make the world safe
for diversity. for in the final analysis,
our most basic common link is that we all
inhabit this small planet. we all breathe
the same air. we all cherish our children's
future. and we are all mortal."

it was relevant in 1963.
it's even more relevant in 2004.

you didn't miss anything.

Sure I did.

I missed the NNBM Bar, Pool Table, and patrons.

Where's my glass?

That big pint glass with the name "Cl@%%y" written on it
with my Sharpie.
(Those middle letters have worn off due to heavy use.)

Speaking of large beer glasses...
While the family and I were traveling through those twisty-
turnie back country roads we came upon a tourist trap type
of eatery where nothing has really changed since the 1970's.

It was a road side BBQ place that had lots of picnic tables
under a huge tent and had an area for kids to play on.
There were a lot of touring bikers parked there and figured
it might be a good place to get a burger and beer.

In fact it turned out to be one of the best cheeseburgers I
can remember eating. But better than the burger was this
stuff made by the Lake Placid Brewery. It was a dark beer
that just tasted perfect for a dark beer. (When I ordered
it I didn't know it was a dark one. It just had a cool
name so I chose it.)

The cool thing about it was the beers came in two sizes.
"Frosty Pint" or "Texas Mug".

Well you know the one I chose, right?
The Texas Mug was almost the size of a pitcher.
(No not a water pitcher. More like Roger Clemons.)

Oh man that was good.

The kids and wife enjoyed it too.

If I ever go back to Saranac Lake again I'll be looking for
it again. The place was called the Tail o' The Pup.

Sort of a stupid name.
But good food.

...for a roadside joint.
