Very interesting, but it does not at all contradict my account of pursuit of containment, lesser evilism, and our sense of honor, rather than material interests, animating our intervention. Of course we would not support elections that would result in the abrogation of democracy. That trick had already suspended democratic governance in Eastern Europe. Of course Ho Chi Minh was a sincere Communist. The horror of the reeducation camps, which led to the flight of the boat people from the South, is enough to attest to ideological sincerity. No doubt he was also a nationalist. So was Hitler, what does that mean? Heck, Mussolini started out as a socialist before becoming an ultra- nationalist and inventing fascism, what do affiliations in youth matter?

Anyway, thanks for the effort.

Quite a history lesson and very revealing to me how the MOTIVES we promulgate are completely to falsify our actions.. Just another lie in a different period of time.
