I think prospects great. There has to be a product upgrade cycle in here from the 1999-2000 cycle peak, too.

Microsoft is a declared, labeled, convicted, marked monopolist though, so it will be politically impossible now for them to acquire other monopoly products, and they can't invest at their historical rates of return. So I like alot of growth stories better. I think Novell and Red Hat will appreciate faster. My personal favorite software stocks are ADAT and IPIX, but they're tiny.
