one of the things that I have found about poker is that I can get the adrenaline rush for a lot cheaper. I won't even say how much I would put on the craps table or place on individual blackjack bets, but I get the same rush playing on a $5 mini tourney table.

But, if it isn't your game...it's not your game.

So does a lot of things in life. Intelligence-gathering, job hunting, football, bargaining and haggling, making small talk with your spouse ...

Exactly my point. They can afford to play against the very best. I can afford to start off casually, such as on the Poker site DR goes to, but how am I going to get really good unless I start playing against the professionals?
