Mish, I've family out in BC and they echo Shack's story... pretty bubblicious out there. OTOH here in Toronto I'm in my second RE boom and it has a different feel from the 80's. Some speculation in condos but not so much it seems past that. My next door neighbour is an appraiser / agent. I've been pumping him on this for a year :o) Lots of refis though and renovation. You can't go a block without seeing a reno or two.. One sign of a leveling off though is all the crappy lots that didn't go last time are starting to go now...

Did anyone read Greg Weldon's piece on gold on Minyanville? He argues that capital inflows into Asian economies are causing the US$ to rally, which is bad for gold.

I don't understand why capital inflows into Asian economies is good for the US$. Can anyone explain his logic?
