Good. I solute your willingness to look at the opposite view, even when it is hurtful. Now that said, Moore's opinions aside, did you find any factual mistakes in the movie?

I find it interesting that we have two very different views of how Moore portrayed the soldiers. IMO he was actually defending them, saying that any wrongful actions on their part was the fault of the leadership ("one immoral act begets another and so our soldiers are forced to..." or something along those lines).

BTW, did you hear about the soldiers who defected to Canada on the grounds they found this war immoral? It went largely unreported in US, but my Canadian friends told me about it a couple of weeks ago. Among the reasons they cited was the use of depleted uranium that would cause cancer in the years to come.

I saw it, that is, most of it. I walked out right after he did the bit about American soldiers in Iraq being murderous scum and right before he started with the heartstring tugging over dead American murderous scum in Iraq. I guess to Michael Moore, the only good American soldier is a dead American soldier.

What drugs were you taking when you saw it?

I saw it twice, and never saw ANYTHING resembling what you're talking about. I remember him making the point of supporting the American troops, who tend to be from the poor and middle class and who are called upon to fight by the upper class who don't serve themselves (i.e. the Chickenhawks of the Bush Administration). He also said that we have the responsibility of sending our troops into harm's way only when there is a just cause.
