Maybe it's just me getting old and grumpy, but I always thought political poles lost their polarity after the election. That no longer seems to be the case, for which I credit a truly intolerable President, Bill Clinton.

I differ with you on President Bush, and I'm not sure how you find your views similar to mine. I think he's a fine President.

There's a new law in my state, Washington, that says you have to vote within your party in primary elections. That's supposedly to prevent cross-over voting for the weakest candidate of the opposite party, ala The Survivor show. While it might make sense for a few people camped out on a tropical island, personally, I think that's relatively stupid strategy for an election in which there are large numbers of voters. You would have to line up hundreds of like-minded people in order for a cross-over strategy to work.

Are you a cross-over guy Spehres?

Otherwise, I consider my views very similar to yours, and think of myself as an anal-retentive conservative.
