I have a relative that works in management at Haliburton. We mix like oil and water : ) According to CNN, Cheney is receiving more than $100k/year right this minute.

He is receiving $100K/year (literally, an insignifcant amount to Cheney). HOWEVER, what CNN didn't tell you is that Haliburton OWED Cheney the money; nothing Cheney does or has done since he was elected can influence this payment in any way -- it is a legal requirement that Haliburton pay this debt. Going tht extra mile, Cheney has purchased a bond to guarantee the money. Which means that Haliburton could go broke tomorrow and Cheney would still get his $100K. This method of resolving conflicts of interest is a standard procedure which is commonly used and is considered to be totally appropriate. But the Left has attacked Cheney, successfully, on this issue. Mostly because the Left hasn't the gumption to undertstand the underlying transaction.

Interesting........Cheney gets $100K per year from Halliburton as deferred compensation while Halliburton gets awarded huge, non competitive contracts in Iraq. Meanwhile Cheney continues to hold stock options worth $8 million that will be worth nada if Halliburton were to go under. And apparently you see no conflict of interest.

Partisan politics make it so easy to be corrupt, huh?

Cheney gets $1m from firm with Iraq oil
