New Zealand? Ecuador? Radical Buddhists?

I don't think radical Buddhists are likely but, three generations out, which is the time frame we were referencing, there's no reason it couldn't be Ecuador with a nuclear arsenal and a chip on its shoulder. Or radical speciesists. Or a mad bazillionaire. And the extremist Muslim Arabs could have gone the way of communism, rotted out from within. With a little help from us, of course, which is what I was suggesting.

And it is, unlike global warming, truly a man-made danger, deliberate and purposeful.

The parallel was not about the type of threat. Pay attention. The parallel was in the religious quality of the belief system and the willingness to hog-tie us out of fear of some hyperventilated future. Different flavors of Kool-ade.

I think we know full well where the danger lies.

You don't "know." You believe.
