Jim, Third parties have never done well. Even when headed by former Presidents, ala Millard Fillmore and Teddy Roosevelt. They will never reform taxes seriously, just as they will never have serious campaign reform. I expect we will back off from active engagement in Iraq over the next year, but remain on those bases we are building in order to squash any move toward real democracy. And backing off in Iraq may not stop the costs as they are already building the case for invading Iran. And this time there are actually some reasons for doing so, though I suspect other methods might work better.
