You better check the facts....

For many many months Bush spoke of nothing but WMD and constantly insinuated an Iraqi connection to 9-11, so much so that 70% of the people (including you) believed it.....

Saddam was at his brutal best when the US was on his side. Post-1991, and especially in the last 5 years, he was little more than a paper tiger. He couldn't even go to the Kurdish region without getting strafed by USAF and RAF jets. The Kurds had autonomy and were virtually a free country.

So far from being a Hitler "liberating" country after country after country, Saddam was losing pieces of his own country.

"completely indifferent to the misery of the millions Saddam brutalized?"

Guess it just took the US a couple of decades to get worked-up about the Dictator's mass-murdering ways....

Since most of those deaths occurred when the Reagan/Bush administration was actively cooperating with the Dictator (sharing intelligence and military support while 1 million died in the 10 year-long Gulf War, and signing an executive order OVERTURNING the American ban on exports of dual-use WMD materials to the dictator)....

Or later, during the first Bush administration when we called for Iraqis to rise up in rebellion (after Desert Storm) against the Dictator, and them SHAMEFULLY stood by and watched them get slaughtered... reneging on our nation's solemn promise to help them.

Dark, dark days Mark!
