Well Joe you missed an awesome speech by a politician that may have the ability to transcend political and racial lines. And a style of building hope instead of the fear mongering and division that Religious Republican politics has spawned the last few elections. In addition Teresa Heinz is a bright woman whom thinks it is time that women be listened to and respected for their minds, but I am afraid that the religious right, the main supporters of Republican politics, still want the little women in the kitchen and the men in the drivers seat. I know because I attend church and hang with a bunch of them.

Of course that does not mean I believe all the dogma that is spewed. I still have the ability to think for myself. This bitter division between both parties has to end. And each party needs to clean up their acts. The demos must realize they cannot support a world of envy where every thing is a given or handout that can be taxed or legislated and the Publicans must realize they cannot tax break the rich and corporations to the detriment of reasonable fiscal policy.

I am disappointed in some of the legislation of the Bush agenda, (and I voted for him BTW), to reduce past environmental accomplishments and the subtle changes to law and court and civil liberties encoded in the Patriot Act and Homeland security bills. Of course compared to your legal background I am sure I am one of those "you won't know anything" individuals but am going on a gut feeling I guess. In addition something stinks about the way we went to Iraq and the subsequent events of the last year. If George was honest and up front and let's assume he is then he has surrounded himself with a bunch of bungling and corrupt misguided advisors that resemble a poor copy of the keystone cops. Even if we should have toppled Saddam because he is a BAD PERSON we must abandon the pre-emptive strike attitude of the neo-CONS because world leadership has so many tyrannical leaders we would have to pursue 80% of them. We need a change.

So I for one am switching sides for the next ride.
