That simply means that we must use the meaning that was intended when the words were originally used not their meaning today. And what a revelation being born was for all of us ...then the touch of the mother and the experiences of infancy that formed us and were like "Eden" for all practicle purposes . We were protected given warmth , loved and cherished . From the start it was those that nurtured us that gave us that first chance to survive . We always have things to give thanks for , but funny i see noone ever giving thanks for anything on this thread . I think you can see somethings clearly James... Funny how this thread diminshes all its participants who profess to know this , and know that ...yet the simplest premise of your "faith" was ----> "God so Loved the World...." All in all Santiago , the above certainly needs no translators to understand , especially when coupled with the many sacrifices , deeds and spontaneous sayings that shine out from your "Christ" in that enlightened ministry and hard life of one you so cherish.... and yet somewhere here a great message is constantly lost . Yet for the vanity and the discredit of each other , and the inability of such an example set before you that should rend the greatest emotion of love, the most elemental courtesies are lost in translation, oh well....yet with so much in common as ye all be sinners in this modern age too.....you cannot seem to find common ground to exercise peace . Or at least the slightest demonstration that any of you have found the remotest glimmer of what one young master 2000 yrs ago gave himself to torture to demonstrate for you . And everyone else he wished to reach as well in this human family we know now that exists today ...none higher or lower , just men all created in the image of God. It is something that is excruciatingly painful to watch , yet somehow engenders a peace that transcendeth understanding that constantly will amaze me .... that those that would take time to argue so ceaselessly and with such wanton regard to the first practice of your faith as directed by him you believe resides above , who suffered so much for the truth while he was here . And in effect then , he stillresides to this day in each of us . That mystery probably was one of the wonders and glories that sustained him then , so why doesn't it come to sustain you now ? That deep wellspring to love even those that revile you and hate you ....yet as Christians together you cannot find the slightest common ground . And yet on and on and on this thread concerns itself with the petty verbal disagreement and the personal attack and deriding , and the belittling of each others person. You know Santiago , every one and each of us has a soul which I think contains an essence of the Creator. The One Who So Loved the World ...He Gave His only Begotten Son ...etc. In Light of that one awesome & cornerstone great "Truth", as your religion teaches , and forgetting all others ...then why in the face of all that that he suffered for all would you so argue and continually practice the hatred and estrangement from that path that he directed you to travel ...which was to love all . The one who seems the most knowledgeable here of the "Scripture" also seems to be the one who is least able to demonstrate "The Love" that makes one young Rabbai's dream come true , that demanded he sacrfice himself in the most tortured way ...to show all the way. The least you here could do..... It was not ever an easy course to love in such a way so that ---->"Grace" in ourselves could truely live as it lives from the beginning in the soul of us ...in "His Image" and a way was taught that forbade you to hate even those that revile you? Do you wish to discuss such a love here or constantly miss the point of how humbly and with the greatest reverence you all here should treat each other with the greatest of tenderness? Is not "Love" tenderness? Did Jesus not forgive even the thief as he was suffering on the Cross ? So that even the lowest and common amongst us could recieve that communion . If he could that and forgive his tormentors then Himself ..then with all this argument you here cannot find that peace and respect of that peace of each other here and now , to forgive and cherish and be kind to each other ? The funny thing is , all this argument over words and phrases...passages and shards and glints of sentences of the high and the mighty ...and yet you fail to comprehend the glory..which is not of words, or deeds ....or anything that can be described but as the utmost experience of the sweetest fruit of your cherished beliefs...from th topmost branches of the tree. You fellow should end all this nonsense ...try to start loving your Christs and do him at least the honor of respecting each other. Whether in a church or in a cathedral or posting on the internet , if your God be a living God ...then show that you have spent the tiniest fraction of a moment listening to him. Prayer is not asking for God to listen to you ...but that you should listen to him. You guys might try that sometime ...it is a beautiful world after all, if you take time to listen to "Him". And what was it again that "He" did Teach ? regards, Mars PS: You should not discuss the teachings of Jesus here with such lack of respect for each other ...there was a reason why "He" taught you tolerance and love for each other . A deep place only he could go & know what each of us are truely rising out from..and he beckoned you to follow him and that vision . But first you needed to learn to love one another . Easy to be a Christian isn't it ? amen. So when does everyone start? ;-)
