If he didn't care about people, why did he bother to volunteer for a tour of Vietnam?

My best friend volunteered to go to Vietnam. He sure as hell didn't WANT to go. Lots of people voluteered who didn't want to go. Perhaps you were never subject to the draft, but when you volunteered you had more options than waiting to get drafted. If your lottery number put you in the "I'm going for sure" category, voluteering made a lot of sense. There are other reasons one might have volunteered as well. My friend has never suggested he knew of anyone who went because they "cared about people".

If he didn't care about people, why did he fight to stop the war in which he just fought? After all, he could have turned into a party animal.......did coke, weed, some alcohol....had fun.

I don't know anything about the man, but I get the sense he was just like Clinton -- motivated to get power.

If he didn't care about people, why has he dedicated life to public service.......

You have GOT to be kidding. Being a Senator isn't exactly as noble as you suggest. Look at that sorry-ass Teddy Kennedy. Kerry has, in my view, done far more damage than he has good, just because he is an extremist liberal.

Liberals are after one thing and one thing only. Power. It has been true of every liberal candidate since Carter. And honestly, of all back to JFK before that.
