When she said she had defends psychopaths and the mentally unstable, you should have told her now you understand why she is for Bush. Truer than you realize. I believe in justice and the rule of law, even for criminals, even for mentally unstable people. I gather that you don't, which explains why you favor Kerry.

Sun, she simply cannot accept that Americans, when faced with the pressures of war, will tend to react similarly to soldiers everywhere. That means that unless there are strong controls in place they WILL commit atrocities. Unfortunately in some wars the controls are not in place and ordinary men get sucked into the darkness. She calls them psychopaths and that's totally a cop out. Many of the men who committed atrocities in Vietnam came home and lived normal lives. They raised families, went to church, coached their children in sports, and had a lot of nightmares. In her pollyanna and black and white world, however, Americans don't do such things, even when they do. And yes, she seems willing to say anything to "win" an argument, even when she must know better. That's not a trait that a "black and white" thinker ought to cultivate.
