Ten,

Yea, there used to be some suspense. In the old days, sometimes, you didn't know who would be the nominee until the end. That was cool.

JF, I caught a small part of the convention on TV, and I was amazed at how they were covering it like it's some reality show or sporting event. It was the "pre-game" show as everyone awaited Edwards coming up to the plate. "He's expected to talk to this crowd like twelve jurors and unite them like they've never been united before. It will be a complicated task. Will he be able to do it?"

That's because everyone knows conventions are boring. BTW this is the first time I have ever watched any political convention in my life. <g>

It's about all I could take. A highly rehearsed and scripted event, and it's covered like it's the Olympics. My message to the GOP: Shorten your convention and save your money for other stuff.

I would agree with you normally and do agree with you re. the GOP. However, the Dems needed this convention to help them get their act together. The Bush/GOP juggernaut has done a really bad number on their morale.
