The top US General with the hard to remember last name (starts with a Z I think) and the president of Egypt are two very qualified voices I've heard warning the Bushies that the way they went to war in Iraq was the best recruiting tool AL Qaida ever had.

Abu Graib made things even worse. But even without Abu Graib Al Qaida had already been given a huge shot in the arm on the Arab street and Bush was doing exactly what Osama had accused him of wanting to do. Take over the Middle East for its oil in tandem with Israel. It would be one thing if Saddam had attacked us, but we really had no business invading and occupying Iraq, especially when the job against Al Qaida was not nearly completed. Now we are spread so thin we can't do any one job right.
