Odd that they would try arsenic trioxide only as a single agent in the neuroblastoma trial. Maybe that was proposed before the research showing elevation of ROS could enhance arsenic trioxide induced apoptosis in solid tumors (as well as blood-borne tumors). Such as . . . cell-research.com Gastric & Esophogeal wjgnet.com cell-research.com Combos seem possible, then. Activators of the caspase cascade, particularly of caspase 3 -- such as smac -- are a possibility. Direct promotion of cellular ROS, perhaps. Not sure about the toxicity of such approaches.
