Windfall Elimination Provision?(WEP)-Why vote against Bush
and Republicans who oppose the repeal of the WEP? Bush and the majority of Republicans are fighting against the repeal of this thieft of elderly American firefighters, policemen, civil servants and teachers. If it wasn't for Bush and Tom Delay (Republican congressional leader), Congress would have already repealed this obscene law against the elderly.

It was a beautiful speech ..........

.......... Very well delivered too.

There really weren't any serious slams at Bush. Certainly some indirect jibes.

Obama is a really good public speaker. You don't think so?

I don't know if he's going anywhere beyond the U.S. Senate. Once upon a time, people thought Julian Bond had really good potential. But he never really amounted to anything. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. The Senate is a very strange place in which to operate.

A good friend of mine is Obama's personal lawyer. They both went to Harvard Law School. My friend says Obama is a genius and very personable. He certainly came across that way to me the other day.

Frankly, I'd never heard of Obama until a few months ago--and this is so even though I live in Illinois and am rather politically aware.
