That could be a final result of the downward spiral. But, the two parties have been so good at dividing us against each other for so long, I'm not sure that a third party could ever get enough traction. Politicians are not the bravest of souls, and they constantly fear they will lose their careers if they don't toe the line. A third party would need a very strong candidate, one that would withstand the attacks of both parties, and be able to raise millions in a Dean-like way.

Until this election, I *always* voted for the most qualified third party candidate for President. This time, I'll vote for Kerry, because I think that fixing the direction this country is going in is more important than the fight to break the two-party hold on us.
