.......... The pressure to go along with Bush was immense. People who didn't go along with him were accused of being unpatriotic. Seriously.

The Democratic Party was spineless then. I was shocked that the Democrats didn't demand a better debate over all the issues surrounding the invasion.

I'll be the first to say the Democratic Party can be a wimp-ass organization sometimes. Its politicians, just like the Republicans, can act in their own self interests at times. Democrats who went along with Bush were not thinking straight.

Many Democratic Senators have admitted lately to having failed to read any of the Patriot Act prior to having voted for it in 2002 (?).

Politicians are not Gods. They are, in fact, frequently, rather weak human beings.
