I don't think it's true... Capitol Hill Blue has had another couple of "scoops," that if having been true, would've been exposed by the mainstream press. Didn't happen.

"Bush Using Drugs to Control Depression, Erratic Behavior"

There was some talk about it. The alcoholism he admitted to, the cocaine use was pushed by a few people. Given Dubya's lifestyle at that time, it wasn't an incredible accusation. You have to remember that in Texas, governor is not a particularly powerful position. They can veto stuff, but that is about it. Now Bush did use his access to the Legislature to get things done that he wanted, but that isn't an official power. As a result, prospective governors don't get scrutinized as much as they would elsewhere.

Most of the modern antidepressants are selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitors(Prozac is one of these). The side effects are minor and their effects are subtle. It generally takes weeks before much change is noticed. Now cyclics can have more proximate effects as can MAOI. Given the concern over impairment, I would guess they are talking about a cyclic of some sort. Assuming there is any truth at all to this rumor.

Ted,

True or not, the guy has screwed this country. At least that would give him an excuse.

Ted, seems like Robert Novak is making the same prediction I'm making if Kerry loses:

suntimes.com

If Kerry loses, it will be worse. His campaign's moderation will be blamed by forces insisting on moving left the next time.

For the record, here is what I said (among other things):

#reply-20223790

After that [if Kerry loses], the DNP will probably undergo a shakeup, reaffirm its liberal ideals, and start setting the stage for Hillary 2008, all in an effort not to repeat the same mistake of nominating someone as nebulous as Kerry.
