Some resources were diverted, not all. Its great that we have had some successes.

A short diversion: My neighbor's boyfriend (Special Forces) has been to Afghanistan twice. He is a smart and dedicated young man ... and I'm sure he has done a great job for America, as have had the others in Afghanistan. With dedicated young Americans like him, I'm not surprised that we have had some success. That is great.

But just imagine if we had stayed focused on al Qaeda. Maybe we would have captured Bin Laden and others. Instead we have allowed that sore to fester and we have created a new recruiting ground for al Qaeda. That is too bad.

P.S. My neighbor's boyfriend is supporting John Kerry.
