I think there are many, many veterans of Vietnam who believe the war was wrong, and the politicians who sent them to Vietnam were wrong. To serve honorably and speak out against the war is and was courageous. What offends me about Kerry is his lukewarm position on Iraq.

You forgot this quote

Any attack will be met with a swift and certain response.

Let's just wait then, shall we?

He learned a lot from that experience...Here are some Kerry quotes from the speech tonight that I really could connect with...

"I will ask the hard questions and demand the evidence."

"We only go to war because we have to."

"Our troops will never be asked to fight a war without a plan to win the peace."

"I want an America that relies on its own ingenuity and innovation - not the Saudi royal family."

Unfortunately, this is all undermined by Kerry's poor decision making in the recent past. He opposed Gulf War I, which was conducted in precisely the multilateral way Kerry says he supports. And he supported Gulf War II, which wasn't.

Basically, Kerry blows with this wind. But looking at the bright side, a President who doesn't believe in anything may be a refreshing change after Bush.
