Killing soldiers is not evil. Nevertheless, I fully support our soldiers in killing every enemy combatant whom they cannot neutralize through other means.


Yes, but now you're off the subject. He wasn't discussing the relative choice of evils between this tactic and that tactic (and no one disputes that war involves killing and many evils, no matter how it's fought). He was asking, can we still say and believe that we are fighting for is morally superior to what they are fighting for, that our cause is just?

"Other means" has already failed when you have to send the troops in.

The troops are the "last means".

I wonder if any of those who do not consider this conflict vital to our survival have ever taken a moment to consider the consquences of losing?
