her conceptions of evil,

She is saying that you can do evil with the best of motives. True. All the mass murder in the 20th Century was done by people who believed they were doing it for the good of mankind.

Evil is "causing harm to another." We have court systems to try to determine if it was done by intention. But if the act itself results in evil, it is evil, intentionally or not.

Our intention is to try to bring individual freedom to the rest of the world. We are trying to limit the harm others can do to you. The Militant Muslim is trying to bring his version of Islam to the rest of the world. Individual freedom is not included in that version of Islam. They don't recognize it as a "good." They don't see restrictions on liberty as bad. They are trying to limit our individual freedom.

So we are morally superior to the militant Muslim.
