You said it was okay if Cheney did it, but not okay if THK did it since she's going to be a first lady.

The difference is that Cheney was responding to a personal affront. Kerry was responding to a legitimate question asked by a reporter about something she had said. She just blew up without the slightest cause. Cheney was provoked by a personal attack.

Not a big issue. Cheney called a reporter an asshole one time. This is just stuff that happens.
