Any "bounce" from Kerry's speech should be apparent by tomorrow. Interesting how Michael Moore is classified as a "Democratic Party figure", along with elected Dems, in the last paragraph. IMO he is going to help them lose, and not just this election. Presidential Tracking Poll: Bush-Kerry Updated Daily by Noon Eastern Election 2004 Presidential Ballot Bush 45% Kerry 48% Other 3% Not Sure 4% RasmussenReports.com ----------------------------------------------------------- Thursday July 29, 2004--After three nights of the Democratic National Convention, the Rasmussen Reports Presidential Tracking Poll shows Senator John Kerry with 48% of the vote and President George W. Bush with 45%. The Tracking Poll is updated daily by noon Eastern. Today's results are based upon survey interviews conducted Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday nights. As John Kerry prepares to formally accept the Democratic Presidential nomination, most Democrats view their nominee as politically moderate. Republicans overwhelmingly consider the Senator politically liberal. Despite the media coverage surrounding the Democratic National Convention, President Bush's ratings for handling the situation in Iraq improved once again this week. Forty-five percent (45%) of voters now give the President good or excellent marks for Iraq. Forty-one percent (41%) give him good or excellent marks for handling the economy. Following a review of our tracking data through July 15, the latest Rasmussen Reports Electoral College projection shows Kerry with a modest lead, 227-208. There are 103 Electoral Votes in the Toss-Up category. Next week, we will release a new wave of state polling data to update our Electoral College projections. Forty-eight percent (48%) of Americans believe that the U.S. and its allies are winning the War on Terror while 30% believe the terrorists are winning. As with many things in this election year, there is a huge partisan difference on this point--most Republicans believe the U.S. is winning while a plurality of Democrats believe the terrorists are winning. In California, Senator Barbara Boxer has a 15-point lead over Republican Bill Jones in her bid for re-election. Monday night Bill Clinton was the star of the Democratic Convention. He and his wife, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, remain among the Democratic Party's most popular figures. They earn better favorable/unfavorable ratings than Tom Daschle, Nancy Pelosi, Howard Dean, Ted Kennedy, and Michael Moore.
