We watched the whole speech on C-SPAN after watching a rerun of Dick Cheney's speech at the 2000 GOP convention.

The contrast was incredibly stark.

Kerry seemed nervous....and yes, he sweated a lot...and fumbled over words. There didn't seem to be much conviction.....a word Cheney used with conviction -g- in his speech. And there didn't seem to be a theme to Kerry's speech.....it zigged and zagged all over the place. It was a patch work of platitudes.

Those long camera shots of him kite sailing, riding his bike or snow boarding doesn't carry water, although he looks like he is in great physical shape.

He is a disaster when it comes to public speaking....no wonder we haven't seen him in front of a camera much during his 20 years in the Senate.

He desperately needs a good script writer, and he needs to dump the swooping hand gestures.
