Gersh, Actually, Kerry isn't totally evil, though he certainly isn't warm and cuddly. Bush is totally evil, though he is a personable empty suit sort. But we get the candidates the big contributors want, which means the average American has very little representation in our govt.

That's modern politics for you, a person of substance who has devoted his life to public service has no chance unless he has "charisma."

Look at how poorly Bob Dole faired when he ran, principally because he isn't a warm and cuddly guy. Look how quickly Bob Graham, who is a heck of a good guy, got tossed out of the democratic primary. He committed the cardinal sin of being a serious and fairly dull man.
