They have goals that they wish to accomplish with the killing. They destroy innocent life as a means to those ends. They are destroying specifically innocent life specifically because it is innocent, without regard for the personal actions or involvement of the individuals they are destroying. That is exactly right. Who fucking cares that they are doing for the sake of goals? It's still evil, and doing it for the sake of their own personal ends scarcely makes it less so.
