Some sites are very protective of their content. I know sfgate.com (San Francisco Chronicle) contacted SI and made them remove an article that someone copied from them and posted here. It had a link back to them but they demanded that their article be removed from here. I wasn't the one who copied their article but I went to their site and wrote a letter to the editor telling them what I thought of them for acting like that and promising not to come back to their site again. I watch and when a url contains sfgate I never click on it.

Some sites like the moderate independent moderateindependent.com have lots of great articles and would probably allow you to reprint their work. You never know though, it might be best to ask permission first or at least provide an email address on your site so people can complain to you if they see their work there and don't want it copied.
