< France sends in 20,000 troops> LMFAO .....

..... A French soldier will never set foot in Iraq. You can take that to the bank.

The situation in Iraq is going to worsen every single day from here until Election Day. That will be the main reason Kerry is elected--if he is elected.

Deep down, Kerry wants out of Iraq and he will respond to the growing public pressure come January to withdraw. A simple withdrawal like Vietnam.

We wanted Hussein removed and the majority of the Iraqis wanted him removed too. This crap that we broke it, so it's ours, is just that--crap! Hussein was keeping a lid on a tinderbox. It's not our job to fix it.

To stay and solve the problems of Iraq (assuming they are solvable), even with international cooperation, will likely bankrupt and destroy the United States of America. Deep down, Kerry knows that. He did not vote to invade Iraq. He gave Bush power to put the threat of an invasion into Hussein's face. Kerry never wavered from his demand for an international consensus as to the type of appropriate action.

Should Kerry be elected he will develop a consensus for appropriate international action. No French troops = no U.S. troops. No French troops; therefore, no U.S. troops. No French troops, therefore, U.S. withdrawal. A simple withdrawal like Vietnam.

<<Am I misunderstanding something here?>>

No, I think the Fox guys just realized that they have been for the past three and a half years.

The speech appears to be spin proof. The Democrats seem to have grown a spine (after the Florida rollover) and may just be looking for a fight for a change. Key now is not to get suckered down into the slime. They will not win a pig wrassling match. The pig is too good at it and already drowning so why go there.

Yes. It's not going to happen. Iraq is a black hole that will be eating whoever's troops are in there. Every jihaddi, mullah, ex-Saddamist and just disaffected egoist with a few friends is the man who would be king. The best thing we or any other country can do is just to get out and let the Iraqis sort it out. I have the hope that Kerry, with his Vietnam experience to guide him, will realize this shortly after getting elected.
