No one lives for ever, Pro, but if your life is extended, or terminal illnesses are held at bay, then the term 'life saving' is appropriate.

You should have caught the network TV program last week that interviewed Lou Gherig's disease and spinal cord injury patients, and Alzheimer's patients (all American) that had recently received stem cell treatments in mainland China (by doctors and researchers trained in the US)... because such treatments are currently illegal in the US.

It was on right after Reagan's speech to the convention.

England has also launched a huge government-supported stem cell research and treatment effort... and I expect to see more and more (researchers AND patients) going overseas for treatments.
