On the other hand, I can't help but think that most people, even most Muslims, would not go so far out of their way to promote their faith. So it's not like we're facing the prospect of the Islamic hordes massing on our borders and invading us just yet, probably never. The faith of the Islamists is very much a barracks religion, as Churchill called it. They see their calling as first throwing the infidels out of Arabia, then they will start on the conquest (or reconquest) of Europe. It's in large part a kind of Luddite backlash at modernization and its failure in the Arab lands.
