I note that neither of those bills has seen any action since before we went to Iraq. I remember those; they were meant to scare the public away from the war. And, contrary to what that message board poster said, there was media coverage of this -- in early 2003, I saw Rangel on TV a number of times discussing this.

Now, it looks like those bills may have been prescient; we could've used more troops in Iraq.

The question is -- has there been any congressional activity on the draft since? It doesn't seem that way. There might be after the election, but no one's going to want to touch it now.
