Hi, Auntie Rose.
Glad to be back. Thanks for the reports.

It was nice, and I'l give some reports along the way, really, I promise, no month vacation.

At the moment, tho, I am totally out of food, so I have to go shopping and start chores.

The worst part is easy, and happened the first night. The friggin casino wasn't open . That was gong to be my night time entertainment,so it ws a major bummer. Second worst part, by general consensus was the trip to Fanning Island, which was just about what I expected. About 4 feet high with trees and sand. Like going to a little village in Mexico, with no electricity, so the natives can sell you their trinkets and get some US cash that they can't spend anywhere on the island, unless they want to buy trinkets. The ship set up the BBQ they usually had at the pool. So, just a day on a beach, some stuff to rent, v. ball, etc. if you wanted. Some kids made friends with some of the folks, and sat around on his porch for a while.
Some people really got pissed. Malila sleeps late, so we got to the island just as the rain quit. Lots paid extra to go to the exclusive island, and got there when the rain began.

Not the highest high, but an Orange Julius in Lahaina. I even told Fuzzette at the time I was going to post it as "The", which is not a comment on the trip, by any means. Orange Julius was one of the very first things I learned in college, and I haven't spoken that language in about 5 years. In fact, on the way to Mom's, while Baby Girl was shopping, I tried to get one, but didn't want to hassle the line.

Oh, would I go again?

Yeah. Definitely not with Norwiegen if it is a cruise, tho. And most likely only if it was with a lady my age, and not (just) my daughter.
It's different than Alaska, tho, in that I wouldn't want to live there, for lots of reasons. Moderately humid, but the scenery just doesn't have the same emotional punch to the heart that the Ak has. It didn't take my breath away. The canyons of Kauai with their big and long waterfalls were like what we saw last year but missing 6000 feet of rock and ice.

However,I didn't see too many surfers up there. Hi. is a water-sign's wet dream. Surf, dive, fish, parasail, everything.
