I was just quoting from the article you posted which clearly stated that all 19 lunches cost $200. It also later, rather misleadingly, talked about "$200 lunches."

No way did the lunches cost $200 each. You can't spend $200 per person at lunch at the Inn at Little Washington, the most expensive restaurant in the DC metro area, unless you're drinking bottles of wine that cost over $100.

Blowouts for the local Chowhound group, who are serious eaters, top out at $150 for a dinner, not counting wine, tax, or tip.

The blogger probably can't afford to eat at fancy restaurants and doesn't realize they are much cheaper at lunchtime.

I agree with the larger point, that pretending to eat Wendy's chili when you have scallops, shrimp and steak waiting for you, is risible and repellant.
