I am almost certain you are kinder and more soft hearted than I am. I think our difference is the definition of the receipient population.

I was thinking of the really down and out, but you are talking about the entire "entitlement" program that includes receipients of SS, Medicare, Medicaid, veterans beneifits, etc.

Most people when they get angry about "entitlement programs" are referring to the welfare mothers collecting assistance for their children and spending it on drugs and etc.

The "entitlement prgrams" you are referring to crosses political party lines. I don't know that one party addresses it better than the other.
