Hawkmoon,how can the United Nations be functional when the United States vetoes every measure that is not in it's best interest,irregardless of what the majority of the members agree to.A good example is the US vetoing EVERY resolution to do with Israel in the last 10 years. The United States has shit mouthed the United Nations ever since an independant Annan took over. On another note,I believe that the United States rushed to war with Iraq because they were afraid that Saddam would leave the country and they would lose their reason to occupy the country...
