We're all so good at telling others, what won't work and why it won't work. Can we switch roles for let's say a day? My 2c:I have absolutely no clue how to get the world, or lets go for less, how to get NE, out of the hole. But - it'd better be all of us (NUN...) Hawk, what do you say? Say "Won't work", so we'll know you're just like us(sg) ... The discussion reminds me somehow of "One flew over the coockoo's nest" and of that stand in the washroom, Jack Nickolson could not even move. Took that Indian Chief to put it to some use... dj ps: and oh yes, btw, what about AIDS, TBC, malaria, dysentery, to name a few killers we somehow got used to have on ignore.

Hawkmoon, you are naive, these kids listen to Arabic news and their own kind - they don't listen to us!!! I don't want them to imitate us.. I want them to create their own workable version of democracy.. And you'd be surprised what they listen to.. I hear a LOT of western influenced music (especially out of Egypt and Lebanon) and the Iraqi locals here watch their music videos all the time.. (some are quite well done, though I don't understand the lyrics).. We're opening up sources of information and discussion to them. We creating a marketplace of ideas from which they will choose. It's not an overnight process.. It will take time.. And some of those ideas will be from the west, and some will be intrinsic.. But once the process of democracy is established, it will be difficult to reverse, if only because people have suddenly developed a different set of expectations about their human rights.. Hawk
