<Dems have never been so united>

" . . . . Dems have never been so united and so deteremined to replace Bush, and Kerry-Edwards is a damn fine ticket. Kerry and Edwards are both fighters, winners and closers. That's why I don't think Bush can win unless something very strange happens."

I am really starting to agree with you in spades. I can't see how Bush can outperform his results of 2000 when he "lost" the election. Are there people out there who voted for Gore but are now going to vote for Bush? It strikes me as preposterous. Maybe religious fundamentalists who didn't really know that Bush was such a right-wing freak back in 2000.

Kerry and Edwards speak well together. They may stay on that bus for quite some time. It's a real scenic drive from Pittsburgh to Detroit, up through Lake Michigan to the U.P., then on to Minneapolis, down through Iowa (stop at the Vilsacks for dinner), and on to Kansas City and St. Louis. End it all with a beautiful Labor Day speech at the arch in St. Louis. Sounds like a plan and the guy is not stupid.

"I don't think Bush can win unless something very strange happens." Something strange might happen: but if it does, it will likely hurt Bush. He needs a major rebound either in Iraq or in the economy. There's no way he's going to get either. Moreover, I think a terrorist attack would really hurt his bid.
